Learn More About Concert Pianist Skyler Miller
Skyler Miller is a double graduate from Jacksonville University; he earned his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance with University Honors and Departmental Honors in 2020 and his Master of Business Administration in Management, Portfolio Management and Accounting & Finance in 2021. He was hired by Jacksonville University's Linda Berry Stein College of Fine Arts as a Staff Collaborative Pianist in May of 2020 and worked with the Jacksonville University Singers, individual instrumental & vocal studios, as well as various performances and competitions in the JU community. Skyler recently moved from Jacksonville, FL to Fort Collins, CO and works as a national insurance broker for Symmetry Financial Group. In the past, Skyler has held multiple leadership roles in his musical community including assistant conductor and bass section leader for the Jacksonville University Singers, principal chair keyboardist for both the Jacksonville University Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, Fine Arts Senator for the Student Government Association at JU and has held multiple internships with accounting and auditing firms. Skyler won both the 1st and 3rd Annual JU Orchestra Concerto Competition with Khachaturian's Piano Concerto in D-flat Major and Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1, Op. 23, respectively. He also attended the Brevard Music Center in 2019 as a solo pianist. In 2020, he was one of four selected internationally to be a part of the Collaborative Piano Program with Brevard Music Center; all four collaborative pianists were responsible for playing with 500+ high school and college students in lessons, studio classes, master classes, recitals, concerts (including orchestral concerts) and competitions throughout the summer institute. He is excited to be a part of Colorado's thriving arts culture and continue his endeavors in both music and business.
